Anonymous verdicts and comments on the official record still require no email. That is McIntyre v. Ohio Elections Commission, 514 U.S. 334 (1995). Topic thoughts are opted-in identified speech and require a verified email.

Held writes

Held writes are counted, not silently deleted. Rapid-fire posts, duplicate text, and bursts from one network are held in public view.

A voice that trips the hold rules repeatedly is quarantined. Later writes from that voice stay held until a human review — which this site does not perform automatically.

      Verification ladder — not a paid check

      Anti-bot is layered and public: email verified → optional phone (Twilio or “coming”) → rate limits → creator checklist → candidate FEC/filing review → personhood proof-of-work. Paid blue-check alone is not the model. Strikes are visible. There are no silent shadowbans.

      1. Email verified — required to post thoughts.
      2. Phone verified — stub until Twilio env vars are set. We do not fake verified.
      3. Rate limits and duplicate/rapid holds (this page).
      4. Creator verified — shop linked or clean disclosure history, not a purchase.
      5. Candidate verified — FEC committee match or filing URL review. Until then: Self-attested — not verified against FEC.
      6. Personhood challenge — proof-of-work at /api/personhood. Optional Turnstile/hCaptcha keys.

      Account enforcement

      Sockpuppet / bot reports: reprimand → mute → ban. Visible on the profile and here. Same ladder as influencer disclosure. Thought posts never enter the index.
