Public-record follow-up

A follow-up is two primary-source records about the same named person: a public court disposition, then a later public charge or conviction inside 180 days. We do not invent cases. We do not brand a judge “soft on crime.”

What qualifies

  1. A follow-up alert is a sourced chain, not a verdict about a judge’s character.
  2. It requires (1) a public court disposition naming a defendant, (2) a later public charge or conviction of the same person, and (3) a primary-source URL for each event.
  3. The later event must fall inside the configured window (default 180 days; 90 / 365 also allowed). We do not invent cases or fill blanks.
  4. We do not compute a “soft on crime” label. The page shows the two records and the dates. Readers open the sources.
  5. New rows default to pending review. Published alerts appear under “Public-record follow-up” — not Amber Alert branding.
  6. Follow-up alerts never enter score_overall or the leaderboard.

Window is configurable via ALERT_WINDOW_DAYS (90, 180, or 365). Default 180. See Method.

Published follow-ups

No published follow-ups. Live recidivism datasets are not wired. We will not seed a fake case. An alert needs two source URLs, two dates, and a human publish step.

Curated ingest (pending review)

File a chain you can source. It stays pending until published. Missing a URL refuses the row.

We notify rarely, and only with sources

Safety follow-ups are a default notification category. Influencer posts and topic chatter are not. Browser push requires VAPID keys — without them we do not fake delivery. Use the digest until then. Optional waitlist if you want email later.
